LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Maria Villarroel had 23 points to lead No. 22 Oklahoma past surprisingly stubborn Kansas 61-49 Wednesday night.
The Sooners (12-5, 3-1 Big 12) have won their last five against Kansas (7-9, 0-5), adding to the Jayhawks' 21-game losing streak in the conference.
Stacy Becker hit a 3-pointer to cut the Sooners' lead to 49-44 with 6:43 left. But the Jayhawks' rally stalled and Oklahoma outscored Kansas 12-5 the rest of the way.
Villarroel topped 20 points for the seventh time this season. She was 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Dionnah Jackson added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Sooners.
Kansas had three chances to tie the game at 30 to start the second half, but could not. Oklahoma did not trail after halftime.
Crystal Kemp had 10 first-half points and finished with 15 to lead Kansas. Becker finished with 12 on four 3-pointers.
The Jayhawks opened the game with an 8-0 run and led 23-14 before Oklahoma countered with a 14-0 run. The Jayhawks scored only once - on a 3-pointer by Becker - in the final seven minutes of the half and Oklahoma led 30-26 at the break.
Kansas committed 30 turnovers and Oklahoma had 22.
