LAREDO, Texas – The University of Oklahoma men’s golf squad returns to the links this weekend at the 2010 Border Olympics, hosted by the University of Houston in Laredo, Texas, on March 5-6.

The 54-hole event is being contested at the par-72, 7,125-yard Laredo Country Club.  The 16-team field will play 36 holes on Friday, before returning to the course for Saturday morning’s final round.

Ben Blundell, Liam Logan, Riley Pumphrey and Tyler Rody return to the lineup for the third straight event after leading the Sooners to a season-low final round of -4 in their last outing at the Puerto Rico Classic on Feb. 23.  Nathan Chambers finalizes this week’s lineup in his spring debut.

Joining the Sooners in the field are Air Force, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Houston, Lamar, New Mexico State, North Texas, Notre Dame, Rice, Texas State, UT Arlington, UTEP, UTSA and Washington State.  Rice is the highest ranked team in the field at No. 33 in the latest Golfweek standings.
Baylor is the defending champion after its seven-shot victory over Arkansas, while UT-Arlington’s Bobby Massa cleared the field by four shots in the 2009 medalist race.

Results will be posted to SoonerSports.com upon the conclusion of play on Friday and Saturday.
