COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Phylesha Whaley scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as No. 23 Oklahoma beat Missouri 76-71 on Saturday night for its eighth consecutive victory.

Whaley scored 18 in the second half, making all three of her 3-point attempts.

When Stacey Dales missed two free throws with seven seconds left Missouri (12-6, 2-5 Big 12) was unable to grab the rebound.

After starting the season 1-2, Oklahoma (17-3, 7-0) has won 16 of its last 17 and has its best conference record in school history.

After a 33-33 tie at halftime, there were four ties and eight lead changes before LaNeishea Caufield hit two free throws with 5:48 left to give Oklahoma the lead for good. She hit 12-of-14 free throws in the second half.

Amy Monsees led Missouri with 16 points, and Julie Helm added 15 points and nine rebounds.

Oklahoma has been outrebounding its opponents by an average of 10 this year, but Missouri had 45 rebounds to Oklahoma's 28. The Tigers, however, committed 24 turnovers, including eight in the final 10 minutes.

A record crowd of 6,227 watched the game. Oklahoma is 8-0 on the road, the longest such streak in school history.
