AUSTIN, Texas — The Oklahoma men’s 4x800-meter relay clocked a time of 7:29.77 to take third in the event Thursday night at the Texas Relays. The quartet of Alex Muntefering, Jacob Boone, Chris Sweeney and Scott Cooper was just five seconds off the Oklahoma program recordf of 7:24.95 in the event as they finished second among Big 12 teams competing in the event.
Texas A&M won the event with a time of 7:19.57 while Arkansas took second with a time of 7:20.20.
The OU men’s distance group returns to action at the event on Friday while the majority of the program begins Arizona action Friday at the Mesa Classic before competing in Saturday’s Sun Angel Track Classic.
