Each week during fall practice four different OU baseball players will be featured in "Up Close and Personal Profiles." The features are designed to give the fan a more in-depth look at some of the members on the 2001 squad.

Do you have any superstitions and what are they?
I like to jump over the white line when I'm heading in to the dugout from the field.

What sport would you be playing if you weren't playing baseball?
Golf or tennis.

If you could have one last meal, it would be ...
Two "In and Out" cheeseburgers animal style (loaded) with an extra-large Dr. Pepper and fries.

Tell me about the first home run you ever hit.
It was when I was playing tee ball and it was just an exhilerating experience. I just kept running because people were telling me to.

Favorite game when you were younger?
Super Mario Brothers and Tecmo Super Bowl

Do you wish pitchers were allowed to bat in games?
Yes, because I can swing it!

What do you like in your cereal bowl?
"Oh's!" with whole milk and I like to drink the milk out of the bowl when I'm done.

Your favorite sports to watch and to play other than baseball?
Football, ping-pong, golf, skateboarding and surfing.

Who was your favorite baseball player growing up?
Cal Ripken, Jr., because of all the things he has accomplished.

What's the first thing you had to learn about playing the infield?
You always have to be thinking.

What advice can you offer to Little Leaguers just starting out?
Have fun.

G.I. Joes and W.W.F. figurines

If you weren't a pitcher, what position would you like to play?
Rightfield, because I like catching fly balls and throwing people out.

My dog Dayz

Ty Murray
