  Oklahoma Team Notes

Oklahoma won for the sixth time in seven games, beating Texas 73-67 to improve to 13-4 overall and 4-1 in the Big 12 Conference.  The win snapped a six-game losing streak to the Longhorns and improved the Sooners' all-time record in the series to 48-34.

Oklahoma shot .481 from the field, the highest figure allowed by Texas this season (Michigan State shot .447 on Dec. 22).  The Longhorns entered tonight's game holding opponents to a national-low .345 field goal mark.  OU shot .542 in the second half.

After making a basket on their initial possession of the game, the Longhorns committed turnovers on their next eight possessions.  They finished with 13 turnovers in the first half and just two after halftime.  OU committed 13 turnovers on the night.

OU made 21 of its 27 free throw attempts (.778), marking the 10th time in the last 11 games it has shot at least .700 from the line.

Oklahoma's six blocked shots were its most since racking up seven in the season opener against ULM.

Texas posted a 34-32 rebounding advantage, snapping a string of seven straight games in which the Sooners outboarded their opponent.

Thanks largely to Sheldon McClellan's 25 points, Texas' bench outscored OU's 44-9.  It was just the fifth time this season the Sooners' bench was outscored.

After tomorrow night's game between Kansas and Kansas State (both 4-0 in Big 12 play), the Sooners will be tied for second place in the league race.

Oklahoma has off until playing at No. 3/2 Kansas on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT.  The game will be televised by ESPN.
