NORMAN, Okla. - After eight months of recovery and having to sit out the fall season, sophomore transfer Krissy Dawson was set to play in her first game for the Sooners. With two minutes to go in the first half in the game against TCU on March 25, the Phoenix, Ariz., native went down with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her other knee.
"It's a tough break both for Krissy and our soccer team", said head coach Randy Evans. "She's an extremely talented and knowledgeable forward and showed signs of being able to make a huge impact for the team."
The squad rebounded from the emotional scene to take a second-half lead on a goal from Megan Olsen. TCU added a goal late to tie the game at 1-1, which proved to be the final result. In the same afternoon, OU took on North Texas. With five of their six forwards out due to injury, the Sooners were not able to launch a consistent attack. In the final 10 minutes of play, North Texas was able to tally the game's only two goals.
