NORMAN, Okla. In a tough Bedlam match on Tuesday afternoon, the University of Oklahoma women’s tennis team fell to Oklahoma State, 4-3, at the Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman.
The Sooners, who concluded their home slate with a 5-5 home record, dropped to 9-14 overall and 3-7 in Big 12 duels with the loss.

Oklahoma State’s success came early with the Cowgirls winning the doubles point. However, OU won the first doubles match at the No. 2 position, where sophomore Christi Baxley and junior Irina Lykina defeated Iryna Tkachenko and Marta Tsvika, 8-2.
OSU came back to win at No. 1 as sophomores Gabby Baker and Chelsea Orr fell to Zana Masnic and Yawna Allen, 8-5. The Cowgirls sealed the doubles point after winning the match at No. 3, with Lauren Simmons and Zuzanna Osinska handing juniors Anne Carter and Monica Purice an 8-2 loss.
