NORMAN, Okla. -- After extending its winning streak to a school-record seven games on Sunday, with a 2-0 victory over then-No. 21 (NSCAA/adidas) Texas at John Crain Field, the University of Oklahoma soccer team (9-1-0) was recognized in three of the four national soccer polls released this week.

After getting off to the best start in program history, OU is No. 25 in the Soccer America poll, No. 30 in Soccer Buzz and is receiving votes in the Soccer Times poll (No. 27).

OU was last ranked during the 2003 season, a year that saw the program make its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.  The 2003 Sooners used a 2-1 victory over Texas to achieve the program’s first-ever national ranking (No. 24 - NSCAA/adidas).  OU was ranked as high as No. 18 during the season in the NSCAA/adidas poll and No. 25 in the Soccer Buzz rankings.

In addition to the national poll, the Sooners are also ranked fourth in the Soccer Buzz Central Region poll and ninth in the NSCAA/adidas Central Region poll.

The Sooners, 1-0 in the Big 12, will resume conference play this weekend with a pair of home games at John Crain Field.  OU will host Texas Tech on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and then battle Colorado on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m.
