NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma softball team continued its success in the 2009 Fall Festival with a 5-0 victory over the Texarkana College Aggies Saturday afternoon. The moved the Sooners to 3-0 in the Festival’s pool play, earning OU a first-place finish in Pool A.
The Sooner’s struck first with a solo home run by senior Amber Flores in the bottom of the first. It was Flores’ third home run in two days. Senior catcher Lindsey Vandever started off Oklahoma’s half of the second with a double to right. She then scored on a throwing error. The Sooners would go on to score three runs in the third inning.
OU’s fifth run came from a solo shot to right center by freshmen Keilani Ricketts in the bottom of the sixth.
Sophomore Kirsten Allen pitched a complete game shutout for the Sooners. Allen allowed just four hits with one strikeout and no walks.
