ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team continued its impressive opening fall weekend by winning all three singles matches and adding two doubles victories at the Navy Invitational on Saturday.

Sergey Avdeyev, Federico Chavarria and Ryan Thomas all won their singles matches and did not drop single set in the process. For the second consecutive day, the Sooners also went undefeated in doubles action picking up two victories.

"I thought we played pretty well today and I thought we had a great showing in doubles action," head coach Paul Lockwood said.

Avdeyev, playing No.1 singles, defeated Patrick Adanis of St. Joseph's in two sets, winning 6-2, 6-3. Chavarria, playing No. 3, defeated Phil Bayliss of St. Joseph's by a score of 6-1, 7-6. Thomas, at No. 5, disposed of Phil Garabedian of St. Joseph's in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.

"I thought we continued to improve in singles play from yesterday which was very pleasing to see," Lockwood said

In doubles action, the tandem of Chavarria and Thomas made quick work of the St. Joseph's duo of Bayliss and Will Pearson by winning 8-1 in No. 1 doubles. Avdeyev teamed up with Jorge Villanueva of Arkansas in No. 3 doubles to shutout the St. Joseph's twosome of Matt Prusack and Brian Costello, 8-0.
