NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma Sooners (8-10, 0-3 Big 12) host a doubleheader this Friday, April 11, at the Headington Family Tennis Center.  At 1 p.m. OU will face the UT- Arlington Mavericks (9-9, 4-2 SLC) and at 5 p.m. the Sooners take on the East Central Tigers (2-5).

"We played a lot better on Monday and I feel that we will be able to carry that momentum to tomorrow's match," OU head coach Paul Lockwood said.

Oklahoma was originally scheduled to face the Tigers on March 2.  The match was postponed due to weather.

"We have three matches in three days and I think we are plenty prepared to come away with victories in all three matches," Lockwood continued.

In their last outing, the Sooners defeated Oral Roberts, 7-0, at the Headington Family Tennis Center on April 7.

"This is the home stretch of the season and we need to play well in order to go into the postseason on a win streak," Lockwood added.

Last season the Sooners defeated the Tigers 7-0 in Norman.  The last time OU played UT-Arlington was in 2004 and the Sooners won the match 4-0.

Sophomore Andrei Daescu is ranked No. 32 in the ITA singles rankings.

Next up, the Sooners host Baylor on Sunday, April 13.  The match is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
