NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma Sooners (10-11, 0-4 Big 12) were defeated by the No. 14 Baylor Bears (17-7, 3-0 Big 12) on Sunday, 6-1, at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

"We can't hang our heads because we have to turn around and get ready for Bedlam on Wednesday," OU head coach Paul Lockwood said.

Andrei Daescu upset No. 20 Lars Poerschke of Baylor at No. 1 singles.  Daescu won 6-4, 6-2, 6-2, for the Sooners only point of the day.

Vlad Marinescu sustained an injury and the Sooners were forced to default No. 3 doubles and his position at No 3 singles.

Baylor picked up singles victories at the rest of the singles positions after posting victories at No. 1 and 2 doubles.

"OSU once again has a very talented team and we are going to have to play well to pick up a victory, especially in a road Big 12 match," Lockwood added.  "But I know that our guys can do it and we all look forward to the opportunity."

Sophomore Andrei Daescu is ranked No. 32 in the ITA singles rankings.

Next up, the Sooners travel to Stillwater to face Oklahoma State on Wednesday, April 16.  The match is slated for a 6 p.m. start.
