NORMAN, Okla. - Former Oklahoma gymnast Jessica Kinder will join the Southeast Missouri State women's gymnastics coaching staff in 2010, announced by the team's new head coach Kristi Ewasko on Wednesday.
Kinder will be the balance beam coach and assistant floor coach. Kinder will also serve as the practice coordinator, recruiting coordinator and choreographer for the Redhawks.
"We are thrilled about Jessica's opportunity at SEMO," OU head coach K.J. Kindler said. "As an athlete, she never settled for less than her very best. I know she will be an asset to their program and will work overtime to exceed expectations."
As a three-year letterwinner for OU, Kinder helped lead the Sooners to consecutive Big 12 Championships in 2008 and 2009. Kinder won three individual event titles in her senior year, including a career-high 9.9 effort on floor against Arkansas.
Kinder worked with the 2010 OU gymnastics squad as a graduate assistant while completing her master's degree in Adult and Higher Education with an emphasis in Intercollegiate Athletics Administration.
Kinder earned her undergraduate degree from OU in health and exercise science, and was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 and NACGC Scholar Athlete honoree.
