MONTGOMERY, Ala. - William and Mary defeated the No. 46 Oklahoma men's tennis team (5-7) on Saturday morning, 4-1 at the Blue-Gray National Classic.
Ionut Beleleu was the only Sooner to record a victory as he defeated Dominic Pagon at No. 2 singles.
"We're disappointed with the loss, but this team fought hard throughout singles and doubles," head coach Paul Lockwood said.
William and Mary took the No. 3, 4 and 5 singles matches. The Tribe also took the No. 1 and 3 doubles matches.
Because of the score the No. 1 and 6 singles and No. 2 doubles matches were not finished.
"We had our chances, but William and Mary just played solid tennis and came away with the victory," Lockwood added.
