ARLINGTON, Texas -- Junior Kyle Bookout won the discus title with a season-best effort of 168-01 to lead the Sooners in the Arlington Invitational Saturday night. Bookout also finished sixth in the shot put with a 47-7.75.

Ten other Sooners posted season bests in the events they had previously competed in this spring. Those posting season bests included Alaina Dearman and Kelli O'Rourke in the 800-meter run, Amanda Luksetich in the 5,000-meter run, Mary Waytula in the 100-meter low hurdles, Megan Crystal in the shot put, Mark Moss in the 400-meter dash, Joey McNair in the 800- and 1500-meter runs, Brontez Steele in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles and Joe Butler in the high jump.

Meanwhile, the Sooners who traveled to Gainesville, Fla., for the 58th annual Florida Relays actually had a fifth NCAA provisional mark. The women's 400-meter relay finished third and posted an NCAA provisional mark with a time of 44.86. The quartet included Alesha Peel, who also posted an NCAA provisional time in the 100-meter hurdles, Jimyria Hicks, Janel Hayes and Staneshia Bell.

The Sooners will send a number of athletes to the Texas Relays this week (Thursday through Saturday) while the rest of the team will head to the Central Oklahoma Relays Friday.
