NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma's DeMarco Murray has been named the Big 12 Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week. The redshirt freshman scored four touchdowns, including one on a 91-yard kickoff return, when the Sooners whipped Baylor last Saturday, 52-21.

Murray's dazzling kickoff return came with 54 seconds remaining in the first half. The Sooners were leading 21-14 when the ball got past Murray. He retrieved it at the nine, then reversed his field, outran several defenders and picked up a wall of blockers that led him to the end zone.

Earlier in the game he had scored on an equally impressive rush that covered 25 yards. He added touchdown runs of one and 21 yards before the game was over.

Murray has tied Adrian Peterson's Oklahoma record for touchdowns by a freshman with 15. He also has become the first freshman in school history to score three or more touchdowns in three different games and the first player ever to log more than three 80-yard plays in the same season.

This Saturday, the Sooners play their final road game of the season when they visit Texas Tech. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., on ABC.

Other Big 12 honorees for this week included Nebraska quarterback Joe Ganz (offense) and Kansas defensive back Aqib Talib (defense).
