NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's soccer team finished its regular season with a 3-1 victory over Arkansas today at the OU Soccer Complex to give the team a school-record 11 wins for the year. The Sooners improved to 11-6-1 on the season while Arkansas finished its year with a 6-14 mark. The Sooners received another stellar peformance by junior forward Krissy Dawson (one goal and one assist) en route to the win.

After a scoreless first half, Oklahoma went ahead in the 51st minute when sophomore forward Logan Womack scored her 13th goal of the season. On the play, Womack received a pass from Dawson, took advantage of Arkansas goalkeeper Lindsay Hunter being out of the box and lobbed the ball over Hunter and into the net.

The Sooners made it 2-0 on Dawson's left-footed kick at the top of the box at 60:13. However, the Lady Backs trimmed the lead to one when Crystal Test scored in front of the net on a short pass from Mandy Komar in the 82nd minute.

But the Sooners clinched the win with 1:35 left to play in regulation as senior forward Jonette Coquat received a long pass from junior forward Shannon Wing and, after a couple of moves, scored from the right side to make the score 3-1.

Despite the goal allowed, the Sooners limited Arkansas to two shots while junior goalkeeper Jana Cunningham (one save) picked up the victory.

"The emotional and physical nature of the OSU game Friday night was definitely evident in the first half," said OU Head Coach Randy Evans. "But the team really focused on what it had to after halftime. I was impressed with our intensity level in the second half and our ability to finish off shots."

Before the game, the team's six seniors were honored. They were Jonette Coquat, Megan Olsen, Kate Rusley, Christen Secrest, Brianne Strothers and Jessica Volcansek.

Oklahoma earned its second consecutive trip to the Big 12 Tournament Friday night and will be seeded sixth. It will take on third-seeded Texas A&M next Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in San Antonio, Texas.
