NORMAN, Okla.-- The Unversity of Oklahoma women’s golf team will continue the fall season when it returns to action in Las Cruces, N.M., to compete in Prices "Give Em Five Fund"/ New Mexico State University Invitational Oct. 16-18. The tournament will be played on the 6,319-yard, par-72 NMSU Golf Course.
The Sooners are looking to bounce back after posting a ninth-place finish at the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich., Oct. 1. Competing for the Sooners this weekend will be Kelly Jacques, Kendall Dye, Jaclyn Stelzer, Staci Smoot and Megan Goodwin.
"We are very excited about this tournament and want to get back to where we were playing before Michigan," said OU head coach Carol Ludvigson. "This is a very tough field and one that will really help our regional standings."
The first 18 holes of the 54-hole event will be played on Monday and the second round will be played on Tuesday beginning at 9:30 a.m. CDT both days. Final-round action will start Wednesday at 9 a.m. CDT.
The 17-team field includes Baylor, Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Gonzaga, Hawai’i, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, San Jose State,UC Davis and UTEP.
