NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma women’s golf team carded a 304 (+16) in Saturday’s second round of the 18-team Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga., to drop to a 13th-place tie with one round remaining. The Sooners are tied with No. 25 Florida State with a two-day 600 (+24) at the par-72 University of Georgia Golf Course.

Oklahoma, ranked No. 26 by Golfweek, entered the day in a tie for eighth place. It is in front of two top-40 opponents in one of the most competitive tournaments of the season. Each school in the event is ranked in the top 100, five of them in the top 25. No. 2 Alabama leads the event by nine strokes over second-place and 12th-ranked Georgia. Alabama’s Jennifer Kirby leads the 90-player field at 138 strokes (-6).

OU sophomore Chirapat Jao-Javanil shot a team-best 75 (+3) Saturday and moved up three spots to 34th place with a 36-hole total of 149 (+5).

Juniors Jacki Marshall and Taylor Schmidt each shot a 4-over 76 Saturday. Marshall, who entered the day in 16th place fell, to 29th place with a 36-hole total of 148 (+4). Schmidt is tied for 34th place with a two-round total of 149 (+5).

Anne-Catherine Tanguay is tied for 60th place after shooting a second-round 77 (+5), while fellow sophomore Emily Collins fired an 81 (+9). Collins stands in a tie for 81st place.
