Sept. 11, 2011
NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma men's basketball student season ticket rebate program is back. OU students who use their tickets for at least 14 of OU's 16 regular season home games in 2011-12 will have the cost of the season ticket ($140) credited back to their bursar account courtesy of the OU Athletics Department. Student season ticket holders who attend at least 12 of the 16 games will be issued a $50 credit to their bursar account. Anyone can use the ticket (friends, family members, co-workers, etc.).
Tickets for the 2011-12 home season go on sale to returning OU students on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 7 a.m. online here and at 10 a.m. in person at the Athletics Ticket Office.
New students (freshmen and transfers) will be able to sign up for season tickets on Tuesday as well (7 a.m. online here or at 10 a.m. at the Athletics Ticket Office). If demand exceeds supply, a lottery will be held on Sept. 14 for new students. Student season tickets cost $140 ($8.75 per game) and will be charged to the purchasing student's bursar account. A $15 non-refundable processing fee will be applied to all orders.
"The cornerstone to having a great atmosphere at games is university students," said first-year OU head coach Lon Kruger. "We've had a chance to visit with many students on campus and their support has been great. We want students excited about coming to Lloyd Noble Center for our games and we'll make every effort to make sure they have a great experience."
The 2011-12 campaign, which features two exhibition games and 16 regular season contests, begins Nov. 1 when the Sooners host Northeastern (Okla.) State. Every Big 12 school will visit Lloyd Noble Center this season.
OU returns 76 percent of its scoring and rebounding from last year, as well as 80 percent of its assists.
