NORMAN, Okla. -- Courtney Paris' 41-point outburst against Oklahoma State on Sunday made news all around the country, but it was probably best summed up by Cowgirls head coach Kurt Budke, who said, "People have to respect her as the best player in the country.

"I don’t know if any one of you in this room were wondering what was wrong with Courtney when she was getting 20 points and 15 rebounds.  That is ridiculous.  That is ridiculous when you are wondering why she is having a bad night when she is getting 20 and 15.

"She is the best player in this country.  I have been saying it since the first day I saw her and nothing changed my mind tonight.  I love her and she is a great luxury to have for a coach.”

The 41-point game was the best individual effort by a women's basketball player in the history of the Lloyd Noble Center.

Paris was named co-Big 12 Player of the Week for the performance and her week long averages of 33 points and 18.5 rebounds. She shared the honor with Kelsey Griffin of Nebraska, who averaged 23 points and 8.5 reobunds. is providing free highlights of the game, along with video of both team's postgame press conferences.
