LUBBOCK, Texas - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team was unable to mount a threatening offensive attack against an impenetrable Texas Tech defense as the Sooners were swept by the 24th-ranked Red Raiders, 15-9, 15-6 and 15-7, Wednesday night at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, Texas. TTU (16-1, 5-1 Big 12) caused problems for the OU (6-8, 1-5 Big 12) at the net as the Sooners were unable to score around 15 Red Raider blocks. Senior middle blocker Cathy Cook led the team in kills with eight, followed by senior outside hitter Maria Holmgren with six.

OU established its own presence at the net with a total of eight blocks, including 10 block assists. Cook, who led the Sooners in kills for the 11th time in 14 matches, also led the team in blocks with four. The Oklahoma defense also held Texas Tech, who is averaging a .260 attack percentage coming into the match, to a .195 hitting percentage.

Oklahoma returns home to face Kansas State Saturday night in the OU Field House at 7 p.m.
