Although the Sooners improved their team score from Sunday’s 306, they dropped one spot to 10th place in the 16-team event that’s being held at the Championship Course of the Trump International Golf Club.  OU stands nine strokes in front of 50th-ranked Wisconsin and 13 strokes in front of 49th-ranked Iowa State.

OU junior Ellen Mueller continued her strong play and moved into the top five of the individual standings.  Mueller fired a 2-under-par 70 on Monday and is only four strokes back from Baylor’s Hannah Burke, who leads the tournament with a 138 (-6).

Freshman Taylor Schmidt improved by five shots in the second round with a 74 (+2) to jump 18 spots up to 32nd.  She is only four strokes out of the top 25.  Senior Chelsey Collins carded a second-round 78 and stands in 42nd place.  Freshman Aly Seng and senior Andrea Sellmeyer both shot 79’s Monday and stand in 53rd and 63rd place, respectively.

“Ellen had another solid round today,” OU head coach Veronique Drouin said.  “We’ve been improving all week and are showing a lot more consistency around the course.  We’re really looking forward to playing even better tomorrow.”
