OU's Ninth-Ranked Wrestling Team Travels To No. 17 MIchigan State

NORMAN, Okla. - The ninth-ranked Oklahoma wrestling team (11-5) will travel to East Lansing Mich., on Sunday to take on the 17th-ranked Spartans of Michigan State at 12:30 p.m. EST. Oklahoma will enter the contest with a 32-7 all-time series lead over the Spartans, including a seven match win streak. Witt Durden, Big 12 Wrestler of the Week, reached the 100 career win mark last Sunday against conference opponent Missouri.

Durden, who is ranked fifth in the nation at 133 pounds, will take on Shane Martin. One of the dual's closest match-ups will come at 125 pounds when Oklahoma's eight-ranked Bo Maynes grapples seventh-ranked Nick Simmons. The only other ranked match-ups will come at 174 and 197 pounds. At 174 pounds, Oklahoma senior Robbie Waller will battle 19th-ranked Rashad Evans and at 197 pounds Michigan State's Nik Fekete will take on 14th-ranked Tom Grossman.

Oklahoma freshman Teyon Ware, ranked first by W.I.N. Magazine, will wrestler either Eric Keith, Ryan L'Amoreaux or Darren McKnight at 141 pounds. Michigan State will bring 11th-ranked Karl Nadolsky to the mat at 157 pounds to take on Oklahoma's Danny Rubenstein, while junior Rafael Maturino will grapple sixth-ranked Gray Maynard at 157 pounds. The Sooners will send Wes Roberts to wrestle Michigan State's 165 wrestler, Arsen Aleksanyan and either third-ranked Josh Lambrecht or Derrick Brown will hit the mat at 184 pounds to take on Jeff Clemens. The heavyweight battle will be decided when Michigan State's John Wechter wrestles either Joel Tapler or Jake Hager.
