Sept. 6, 2000
NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma Men's Golf Head Coach Jim Ragan announced the Sooners' 2000-2001 schedule today, a slate which includes five tournaments this fall. Oklahoma will be a first-time participant in the three of the five tournaments -- the Inverness Intercollegiate, the Windon and the Duke Golf Classic.
Oklahoma will begin its spring schedule in Hawaii at the Taylor Made Waikoloa Intercollegiate for the first time since finishing seventh in 1992. OU then travels to San Juan for the Puerto Rico Classic for the first time in its history. The Sooners then make return trips to the Southwestern Intercollegiate in Westlake, Calif., the Morris Williams Intercollegiate in Austin, Texas, and the ASU Thunderbird Savane Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. OU wraps up its regular season by competing in the Big 12 Conference Championships in Hutchinson, Kan., and the annual Maxwell Tournament in Ardmore.
The Sooners begin play this Saturday in Johnson City, Tenn., at the Ridges Intercollegiate hoping to duplicate last season's first-place showing.
