NORMAN, Okla. -- Whitney Palmer scored two second half goals en route to a 2-0 Sooner victory on Saturday night over visiting Arkansas at the OU Soccer Complex.

OU improved to 5-0 in the spring and has one game remaining at Tulsa on April 24 at 7 p.m.

Despite a scoreless first half, OU created plenty of scoring opportunities and nearly led 3-0 at the break.  In the 11th minute, Kelsey Kraft hit in the cross bar and 16 minutes later, Sage Coralli had her shot deflect off the post.  Kraft was back attacking in the 34th minute and almost had her seventh goal of the spring, but the Arkansas goalie saved a free kick headed towards the top corner of the goal.

In the second half, the Sooners' leading goal scorer from the past two seasons went to work.  In the 47th minute, Palmer gave OU a 1-0 lead on Jordan White's assist.  The duo struck again in the 78th minute as White and Kate Marr assisted Palmer and stretched the Sooners' lead to a two-goal advantage.

Oklahoma led the Ladybacks in shots, 12-8, and corner kicks, 3-2.

"This was another good win for our team," said OU Head Coach Nicole Nelson.  "We look forward to finishing out the spring season on a positive note at the end of the month.  The players continue to get better each time they step on the field, which is very exciting as we look ahead to next season"
