NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's golf team finished in third place on Tuesday following the final round of competition at The Pepperdine Club Glove Intercollegiate in Somis, Calif. After concluding the second round in seventh place, the team posted a final round of 290 for a total of 884 (+20). Oklahoma's total was the second lowest round of the day, behind UC Irvine's 287. UC Irvine won the tournament with a three-round total of 868 (+4).

Freshman Jim Renner (Plainville, Mass.) led OU with rounds of 75, 70 and 73 and finished tied for ninth place. Renner finished in the top-10 in only his second start as a Sooner.

Six shots behind Renner was junior Martin Flores (Mansfield, Texas), who finished tied for 22nd place. Flores posted rounds of 76, 74 and 74 to finish at eight-over par. Senior John Kidwell (Dallas, Texas) shot a final round 70 (-2), to finish tied for 24th.

Junior Blake Martin (Stigler, Okla.) tied for 32nd place after shooting a 228 (+12) and junior Doug Manor (Garland, Texas) rounded out the scores for OU with a 233 and tied for 50th.

The Sooners conclude their fall schedule in Manhattan, Kan. on Oct. 17 against Kansas State in a dual meet.
