NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma men's golf lost to Kansas State in a dual match at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kan. on Thursday. The 27 hole format included eight players from each team with the top six scores counting towards the overall total. Oklahoma ended the first 18 holes with a team total of 471 (+39) and finished the match with a nine hole total of 229 (+13). Kansas State finished the day with a team total of 668 (+20).

Senior John Kidwell (Dallas, Texas) and junior Martin Flores (Mansfield, Texas) led OU with identical rounds of 76 and 36, to tie for 3rd place.

Three shots back was junior Blake Martin (Stigler, Okla.), who finished tied for seventh place. Martin posted rounds of 78 and 37 to finish at seven-over par. Junior Doug Manor (Garland, Texas) finished out the day with a total of 117 (+9), good for a tie for ninth place. Freshman Jim Renner (Plainville, Mass.) ended up three shots behind Manor with a 27-hole total of 122, finishing in 12th place.

In his first tournament of the year, senior Parker Foster (Tulsa, Okla.) shot rounds of 86 and 39, finishing in 14th place. Rounding out the scoring for Oklahoma were freshmen Brodie Flanders (Vancouver, B.C.) and Robert Stone (Dallas, Texas), who finished tied for 15th.

The Sooners concluded their fall schedule with today's match. OU opens the 2003 season in Waikoloa, Hawaii, on Feb. 12-14.
