BRYAN, Texas University of Oklahoma men’s golf sophomore Anthony Kim finished the second round of the Texas A&M Invitaitonal in a tie for third place.
New Mexico and Oklahoma State (+4) share the lead by two strokes over Southern Methodist. Oklahoma (+19) is in seventh place.
Kim followed his first-round even-par 72 with a 69 in the second. The La Quinta, Calif., native owns one of six eagles fired on the dayhis on the par-5 No. 3 during the first roundand scored five birdies, including three consecutive, during the second round.
The sophomore (-3) shares third place with Oklahoma State’s Tyler Leon. They are behind leader Spencer Levin of New Mexico (-8) and second-place Jeff Bell of Texas (-4).
Justin Fraley is in the midst of his best performance as a Sooner. The junior from Rowlett, Texas, fired a pair of 75s to put him in a five-way tie for 28th.
Phillip Bryan was next for OU on the leaderboard. The freshman was 13th after shooting 1 over for the first 18, but fell into a tie for 33rd with a 78 during the afternoon session.
Shawn LaFontaine and Nick Sheedy complete the OU lineup. LaFontaine (+10) is in 55th and Sheedy (+12) is in 62nd.
