Women's Golf Takes Second Place At The Wahine Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team captured second place Wednesday at the Dr. Thompson Wahine Invitational in Kaneohe, Hawaii. The runner-up honors are the Sooners' best finish of the season. Oklahoma finished behind fifth-ranked Oklahoma State, while moving ahead of No. 6 Tennessee.

Senior Jennifer Tannehill recorded her best finish of the season and tied her season low round with a third-round score of 74 and a fourth place finish. Carding a 231 was junior Allison Johnson, while sophomore Lisa Meldrum trailed her by one stroke in 13th place. Sophomore Hope Edge finished in 17th place, her best of the spring, with a score of 236. Individual competitor Wendy Martin carded a 238 for a 24th place finish and freshman Emily Milberger placed 26th with a three-round score of 239.

Oklahoma will resume tournament action on March 25-26 at the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, Texas.
