NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's golf team finished the final round tied for 16th place at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate in Austin, Texas, on Tuesday. The Sooners finished the 54 hole tournament with a team score of 884 (+20). The tournament winner was Oklahoma State, who shot a 23-under-par 841. The tournament was played on the Men's Championship Tees (par 72 - 6,906 yards) at the Austin Country Club.

OU was led by junior Blake Martin (Stigler, Okla.) who fired a three round total of 214 (-2), good for a tie for 14th place. Junior Doug Manor (Garland, Texas) shot an even-par 72 during the final round and finished tied for 29th place.

Senior John Kidwell (Dallas, Texas) had a strong final round, carding a three under par 69 and finishing tied for 54th place.

Rounding out the scoring for the Sooners are freshmen Jim Renner (Plainville, Mass.) and Brodie Flanders (Petitcodiac, New Brunswick) who finished the closing round tied for 82nd and 87th, respectively.

The Sooners return to action April 11-12 at the Arizona Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.
