Senior Kristen Cox:
Wow, what an incredible week it has been in the gym. We have had so much fun the past couple of weeks and it has been a great experience. It can only go up from here. Everyone is working so hard to get new skills and some of us are still working on old skills and getting them back from summer break. Morning workouts have gone well and we just finished our five mile run early Thursday morning. We all did a great job and finished a lot earlier than we expected. While gym has been getting better and better every day, school has also been catching up with everyone. Midterms are here and I can't believe it. This semester is going by so fast, but we are having fun and we have improved so much already. It is such an honor to be wanted as a team captain along with Tiffany and I know we won't let the team down.
Junior Tiffany Willin:
We just finished our 5th week of mandatory practices. And even though it has been rough waking up 5:30 each morning and then coming in again later that day, it has really paid off. This past Thursday we completed what we have been working for since day one, our 5 mile run. When they told us that we would have to run five miles during the sixth week of practice we were a little worried, but we worked our way up to it and everyone did great. Everyone finished the run with enthusiasm and if they couldn't run because of injury, they rode their bike along with the team. It was a great team activity and we really had to turn to each other to finish. It was awesome when we got to the finish line and we were all cheering and laughing together. It was a wonderful way to start building the bond of our team and this was really the first time that we had to turn to our teammates for encouragement and strength. It was amazing!
