CHOUDRANT, La. - The University of Oklahoma men’s golf squad returns to the links this week at the Bulldog Classic at the par-72, 7,105-yard Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, La.
The 54-hole event features 36 holes on Monday (8 a.m. shotgun start) and 18 holes in Tuesday’s final round which commences at 8:30 a.m.
The Sooners are joined in the 16-team field by Austin Peay, Centenary, Houston, Jacksonville State, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, Missouri State, New Orleans, Nicholls State, Ole Miss, Rice, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin and UTSA.
“This is an event that we need to contend for the title,” said head coach Ryan Hybl. “We didn’t get the job done in our last outing, which was disappointing after putting ourselves in position to win the tournament. We certainly expect improvement this week.”
OU’s lineup features Ben Blundell, Ben Klaus, Liam Logan, Riley Pumphrey and Tyler Rody.
Rody paced the Sooners with his fourth-place effort in OU’s last outing at the Border Olympics, capped off by a second-round 69. The Sooners finished the event in second place, their second straight top-10 finish.
