NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma soccer fans can get their first look at the 2010 Sooners as they host Northern Colorado in the lone exhibition game on the schedule on Friday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. Admission is free to all fans in attendance at the OU Soccer Complex.

OU and UNCO have never met before on the pitch and enter Friday's game after experiencing similar results in 2009 and returning a lot of experience in 2010.

The Sooners (7-10-2) finished last year in 10th place in the Big 12 standings in 2009 but return 10 starters, including leading goal-scorer, senior forward Whitney Palmer. The Plano, Texas, native set a school record with 15 goals a year ago (12th nationally) and enters the 2010 campaign five goals short of tying the career mark held by Logan Womack (34 goals).

The Bears (6-10-1) posted a sixth place finish in the Big Sky Conference and return nine starters, highlighted by junior forward Ariel Cook and her team-leading four goals and 10 points from a year ago.

Oklahoma, which enters its third year under head coach Nicole Nelson, will open the 2010 regular season on the road at Oklahoma State. The additional game in the Bedlam Series, presented by Oklahoma Farm Bureau and the Oklahoman, is considered a non-conference game. The Big 12 showdown between the in-state rivals is set for the season finale on Oct. 29 in Norman.

The home opener is slated for Sunday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. against Stephen F. Austin. Season tickets for the 2010 soccer season are now available for purchase online and by phone (405-325-2424 or toll-free 800-456-GoOU).

The home opener is the first of nine that can be seen live from Norman online on Oklahoma All-Access,' premium site. Click here for more information.
