Recap |  Box Score |  Notes

Oklahoma Head Coach Sherri Coale
On the game
"I was really proud of the balance of our team today. I thought we shared the basketball extraordinarily well. I thought we adhered to the game plan well, thought we played together extremely well. I thought we got great play off the bench."

On playing without Courtney Paris' double-double streak
"For the first time in I don't know how long, I didn't have some body in my ear saying 'she's got this, she's got that'. It was great, just play."

Oklahoma forward Courtney Paris
On becoming the NCAA leader in rebounds
"I take a lot of pride in rebounding. I'm sure when Wanda Ford broke the record she hoped that some one else would and I hope that some one else will too and our sport keeps getting better."

Oklahoma guard Danielle Robinson
On getting off to a good start
"I think coming in to this game, I remember Oklahoma State sags a little bit. I think it was crucial for me to start off the game hitting shots and starting off with that confidence."

Oklahoma State Head Coach Kurt Budke
On the game
“Oklahoma’s a great team, just give them all the credit in the world. I think they’ve got all the pieces to the puzzle. I think they’re a team that is no question a Final Four team. I think they are one of the top two teams in the country right now. I think this Connecticut team is a little above them right now, but I think Oklahoma’s above everybody else.”

On the Cowgirls
“Obviously, we’ve got to get better defensively and we understand our weaknesses. Our rebounding hasn’t been very good this year, and our defensive effort, on a consistent basis, hasn’t been as good. Again, give those teams credit. They’re really good.”

On Tegan Cunningham
“Tegan Cunningham; you see her coming around and she’s coming into her own, so that’s maybe another piece of the puzzle that we can depend on a little bit.”

On what needs to improve
“The bottom line is, championships come down to defense and rebounding and we did both of those well last year and we’re not doing it right now.”

On the NCAA Tournament
“I think anybody in the Big 12, if you can get to seven wins, you’re in. So there’s no change of goals right now.”

Oklahoma State guard Andrea Riley
On playing defense
“You can’t win games without playing defense. Offense sells tickets; defense wins games.”

On Oklahoma’s guard play
“I think their guards really stepped up tonight. Last year their guard play wasn’t as good as they have this year. They’re a pretty good team all around and they really showed that tonight.”

“I think that if we continue to worry about winning a game and putting so much pressure on ourselves we’re going to continue to lose. That’s really a big burden on your shoulder and it puts you in a bad position about thinking about the game and thinking about what you have to do.”

“I think the last two games we weren’t really having fun. First of all because we lost; second of all because we let someone come on our floor and get 90-something points. That really made us look like we weren’t playing any defense. Even though they were shooting the ball really well, I think we could have had a better effort on defense.”

Oklahoma State forward Tegan Cunningham
On her improved shooting
“I was working on it at practice and I’m just happy with the way I’m shooting so far, so hopefully I can keep it up.”

On playing defense
“We can’t go the whole game trading baskets. They’re too good of a team and we can score but it has to stop somewhere. We have to control the one-on-one battles.”
