NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma head volleyball coach Santiago Restrepo has announced the signing of Madison Ward of Cache, Okla., to a national-letter-of-intent. Ward will join the Sooners for the 2012 season.
“This is the tallest, most physical class we’ve signed since I’ve been at Oklahoma,” Restrepo said. “We’re very excited for the opportunity to teach these young ladies and continue the tradition we’ve established. Madison is a very talented outside hitter. She is very dynamic, versatile and a very good six rotation player.”
Ward played at Cache High School as an outside hitter and setter. She earned Oklahoma All-State honors in 2011. The Bulldogs finished runner-up at the 2011 state championship after winning the title in 2010. Ward had 624 kills, 424 assists, 46 aces and 74 blocks as a senior.
