The Oklahoma women’s golf team completed their first tournament of the spring and finished in third place with a three-round total of 888 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.  The Sooners’ tournament total ties for their team low this year.  The 15th-ranked Oklahoma team recorded a final-round 299 to finish behind Duke (ranked No. 1) and Georgia (No. 7).
The Sooners competed against a 15-team field that included 10 top-25 teams. The teams played at the 6,00-yard, par-72 Del Mar Country Club in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
For the fourth time this season Oklahoma had four of its golfers finish in the top-25.  Sophomore Amparo Gala, the Sooners’ top-performer, carded a final-round 74 (+2) to finish in eighth place with a career-best 220.  One stroke behind was junior Emily Milberger who tied for ninth after carding a third-round 73 (+1).
