NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma freshman Willie Warren was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week for the seventh time this season following his 27-point game at Texas on Saturday.  The seven honors are the second most in Big 12 history and one shy of the eight earned by Kansas State's Michael Beasley last year.

Warren, a 6-4, 207-pound guard for the 25-2 Sooners, was 10-for-20 from the field and 6-for-12 from 3-point range in the 73-68 loss to the Longhorns.  He also added six assists, a pair of rebounds and a steal.

After the Sooners lost Blake Griffin to a first-half concussion and then watched Texas take a 12-point lead two minutes into the second half, Warren spurred runs of 14-0 and 11-0 to give OU a 61-56 lead with five minutes remaining.  All 17 of his second-half points came between the 16:00 and 5:14 marks.

The performance marked Warren's sixth game of at least 20 points this year, the most by an OU true freshman since Tim McCalister's nine in 1983-84.

Warren is the Big 12's top scoring newcomer, averaging 15.4 points a contest to go along with his 2.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists.  He ranks 11th in the league in scoring, sixth in field goal percentage (.493), seventh in free throw percentage (.785) and 15th in assists.

In OU's nine road games, Warren is averaging 20.0 points and 3.9 assists while shooting .500 from 3-point range (28-for-56).

Warren and the second-ranked Sooners host No. 15 Kansas on Monday at 8 p.m. CST.
