The University of Oklahoma women's gymnastics team earned the 14th-best team grade point average in the country in 2004, the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches for Women (NACGC/W) announced in its annual release. The Sooners earned a team GPA of 3.4153 during the 2004 season, a personal best for the program that also set its highest mark for individual all-americans with five. 

The five student-athletes named Individual Academic All-America, met or exceeded the 3.5 GPA academic year or cumulative GPA criterion.  All five honorees were part of a team that won its first Big 12 Championship and made its third appearance in the NCAA Championships.  They are Leah Mueller, Tara Anderson, Katie Hostler, Brittney Koncak and Elizabeth Tandy all were named 2004 NACGC/W Academic All-Americans.

Southern Utah University earned the top honor and Nebraska was the only other Big 12 school in the top 15, coming in as the sixth-highest.
