NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team fell in straight sets to the Kansas Jayhawks Saturday afternoon at McCasland Field House (-21, -21, -16). The Sooners finish the regular season at 21-10 overall and 13-7 in Big 12 play.
Suzy Boulavsky led OU with 13 kills, hitting .393 against the Jayhawks (17-14, 8-12 Big 12). Sallie McLaurin added 11 kills, hitting .276 and two block assists.
The Sooners hit .252 as a team but were unable to overcome 11 receiving errors against the Jayhawks.
Caitlin Higgins led the Sooners with 14 digs, while Maria Fernanda and Eden Williams added 10 each. Brianne Barker had 35 assists and six digs.
Jenna Kaiser had 14 kills and Karina Garlington had 13 for Kansas, while Caroline Jarmoc had 10. Morgan Boub and Allison Mayfield each had three service aces for the Jayhawks. Kansas out-blocked OU 8.0-4.0 and hit .343 as a team.
The Sooners honored the 2010 senior class of Sarah Freudenrich, Chrissy Disarro and Francie Ekwerekwu folloing the match.
