Sooners To Compete in Inaugural Inverness Invitational
The 23rd-ranked University of Oklahoma men's golf team continues their fall season next week as the Sooners travel to Toledo, Ohio to compete in the inaugural Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational.

The tournament is scheduled to take place on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 18-19. The 13-team field will consist of several nationally ranked teams including No. 13 TCU, No. 16 South Carolina and No. 20 Kent State. Play the first day is 36 holes, with 18 holes played on Tuesday.

"I think this tournament has a fairly strong field," said OU Head Coach Jim Ragan.

"The thing that I think our players are most excited about is having the opportunity to play this golf course. It has been the site for many major championships including the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. From what I understand they have done some renovations to the golf course including making the course a little bit longer and have redone the greens."
