NORMAN, Okla. The OU men’s tennis team will head to Houston, Texas to compete in the Rice Invitational Friday, March 23 through Sunday, March 25.
The No. 52 Sooners will face three top 40 teams at the tournament beginning with No. 24 Rice Friday at 1 p.m. Saturday Oklahoma will face No. 39 Middle Tennessee at 9 a.m. followed by a match against No. 33 William & Mary at 9 a.m.
“This will be a great opportunity for our guys to face three great teams,” OU Head Coach Paul Lockwood said. “We have had a good week of practice and look forward to the challenge ahead.”
Oklahoma is 13-2 on the season and is tied for the second best record in the Big 12. The Sooners boast two ranked freshmen, No. 78 Andrei Daescu and No. 83 Vaclav Kucera.
The matches will be played at Rice University in the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium. Results will be posted on SoonerSports.com as soon as they are available.
