NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma women's golf team is in a tie for seventh place after two rounds of play at the 15-team Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, Texas. The Sooners entered the day in 10th place and improved 10 strokes after shooting 18 over (306) on the par-72, 6,323-yard University of Texas Golf Club course.

With a two-round total of 622 (+46), OU is tied with Nebraska and is 15 strokes behind tournament leader Texas.

Andrea Sellmeyer, who is competing unattached from team scoring, fired a 3-under-par 69 Saturday to climb into a tie for second place. The second-round score marked a career best for the freshman and was the fourth lowest all-time round recorded by a Sooner. Sellmeyer's 69 also stands as OU's second best score this year (Chelsey Collin shot a 68 in the second round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic). In her third career tournament, Sellymeyer stands at 147 (+3) through 36 holes and is seven strokes behind leader Kelley Louth of Texas.

"I'm so thrilled about Andrea's performance," OU head coach Carol Ludvigson said. "She is so smart and talented and this really shows the depth that we have on our roster."

"Everyone improved today," Ludvigson said. "We need everyone to pull together tomorrow to pick up at least seven shots. It can be done on this course. We look forward to finishing strong here in Austin."
