NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Programs and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione and head track and field coach Martin Smith announced the 2012 indoor schedule on Thursday morning. The 11-week schedule includes three home meets and stretches from Nampa, Idaho to South Bend, Ind.
The Sooners host the 12th annual J.D. Martin Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 21. The Mosier Indoor Facility sees action return with the Sooner Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 4 and the Oklahoma Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 18.
OU spends the second week of the season in Fayetteville, Ark., at the Arkansas Invitational Jan. 27-28. It marks the first of three visits to the Natural State, as OU returns to Fayetteville Feb. 10-11 for the Tyson Invitational and March 2 for the Arkansas Last Chance meet.
Following the Arkansas Invitational, the Sooners make their first of two stops of the regular season in South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational on Feb. 3-4.
OU heads south for the Big 12 Championships on Feb. 24-25 at College Station, Texas. The squads split Mar. 2-3 as OU athletes may compete at the Arkansas Last Chance in Fayetteville, Ark., the Notre Dame Last Chance in South Bend, Ind., or the Iowa State Last Chance in Ames, Iowa.
The 2012 NCAA Championships is March 9-10 in Nampa, Idaho.
