NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's gymnastics teams, ranked 11th nationally, will travel to Columbus, Ohio, Saturday to face Ohio State. Competition is set to begin at 7 p.m. OU looks to move its season record to 12-1, while Ohio stands at 7-9 on the year.

The OU/OSU meeting is the first-ever competition between the two teams . The two squads played two common opponents this season--LSU and Missouri. The Sooners defeated both squads, while Ohio State downed Missouri four weeks ago and fell to LSU in its season opener.

Ohio State will be led by junior Lindsey Vegedes. Vegedes consistently has been at the top of the awards ceremony this season, winning at least on event in all but one of OSU's competitions. Despite team season-high scores on both the uneven bars (49.050) and the floor exercise (49.250), OSU fell to Pittsburgh and Michigan State in tri-meet action last Saturday in Pittsburgh. The Buckeyes recorded a team score of 194.325 to place third, while the Panthers were first (195.925) and the Spartans took second (195.150).

After coming off a 193.625-192.725 win over Southern Utah Monday, the Sooners look to rattle off their sixth consecutive victory this season. OU's lone loss came to No. 5 Nebraska on Feb. 4 in Norman, Okla. The squad has scored no lower than a 195.000 in all but one of its last five meets. The Sooners are led by redshirt-freshman Leticia Ishii, currently ranked 12th in the nation in the all-around. OU senior Amber McCracken is the nation's eighth-ranked vaulter, while holding a No. 14 ranking in the all-around.
