Warren Earns His Third Rookie Honor

NORMAN, Okla. - For the third time in seven weeks, Oklahoma freshman Willie Warren has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week. Warren picked up the honor today for his effort in last week's road triumph at Rice.
In the 70-58 win over the Owls, Warren scored a career-high 31 points and added a pair of rebounds and three assists to help the fourth-ranked Sooners remain undefeated (12-0). The guard's 11 field goals and four 3-pointers were career highs.
Warren's play down the stretch was key to OU's victory. He scored 14 of his points in the final 7:31 to help turn a 46-46 tie into the 12-point win.
The Big 12 coaches' unanimous choice as league preseason player of the year, Warren is now averaging 14.9 points and 2.6 assists per game to rank second on the team in both categories. He is shooting .492 from the field and also averages 1.6 steals per contest.
Over the last five games, Warren is averaging 17.0 points while shooting .574 (31-for-54) from the field and .435 (10-for-23) from 3-point territory.
Warren and his OU teammmates will play at Arkansas (9-1) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. CST before returning home to host Coppin State on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
