AMES, Iowa - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team fell in straight sets to No. 10 Iowa State Saturday afternoon in Ames. The Sooners (10-4, 2-1 Big 12) dropped the sets by scores of -13, -19, -23 to the Cyclones (10-2, 3-1 Big 12).
Suzy Boulavsky led the OU offense with 10 kills. Morgan Reynolds added six kills and a team-high three block assists. Middle blockers Sarah Freudenrich and Sallie McLaurin contributed seven kills each. Freudenrich hit .357 with one block solo and one block assist, while McLaurin hit .462 with two block assists.
Brianne Barker was once again one dig shy of a double-double, recording 26 assists and nine digs to go along with three kills. Maria Fernanda led the Sooners with 10 digs. She also added six assists. Despite Oklahoma scoring 23 points in the third set, the Cyclones controlled the entire match with only three ties and two lead changes.
Victoria Henson led the Cyclones with 17 kills, hitting .429 on the afternoon. Henson added seven digs and two block assists. Jamie Straube had 10 kills, hitting .304 for Iowa State. Carly Jenson also had 10 kills for ISU.
The Sooners are back in action Wednesday evening, hosting fourth-ranked Nebraska at 7 p.m. CT at McCasland Field House.
