OU Raises $7,040 from Pink Auction

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma women's basketball team raised $7,040 for breast cancer research through its online auction of memorabilia from the 'Pack the Place Pink Night'.
The auction officially closed on Monday night at 8 p.m., after one week of online bidding.
The top item was a pair of pink Converse low top Chuck Taylor's that Sherri Coale wore on the sidelines during the game. The shoes sold for $2,000 after a week of bidding.
OU also auctioned off 14 t-shirts signed by the women's basketball team and seven t-shirts signed by both OU and Texas. The individual shirts were bid on nearly 100 times. The top bid on the one-of-a-kind t-shirts was $400.
Combined the 21 shirts brought in $5,040.
OU also raised $1,775 through donations and a silent auction on three other pink t-shirts on the day of the game.
In sum, OU raised $8,815 for breast cancer research. All proceeds will go directly to the University of Oklahoma Breast Institute.
