BOZEMAN, Mont. - The Oklahoma volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday morning with a 15-5, 15-7, 15-3 defeat to Utah State at the Holiday Inn Classic in Bozeman, Mont. With the loss, the Sooners dropped to 5-1 on the season, while USU improved to 3-3. OU struggled offensively as it produced a season-low .041 hitting percentage and landed a season-low 31 kills on 100 attempts. OU also committed 27 errors. Utah State landed 45 kills on 89 attempts with only 13 errors for a .360 hitting clip.

Senior middle blocker Cathy Cook led the squad for the sixth time this season with a season-low seven kills, marking her first non-double digit kill performance of the year. Also landing seven kills for OU was sophomore Lindsay Hoyt. Hoyt produced a team-high .250 hitting efficiency on 16 attempts and only had three errors. Senior setter Carolyn Kittell had team highs of 27 assists and six digs, while senior Holly McMillan and Cook had two blocks each. Freshman Christina Barlow matched Kittlell with six digs.

OU wraps up tournament action tonight with a 7:30 match against host team Montana State inside Shroyer Gym.
